Kaleidoscopic Blocks

I love to bring these blocks out when the sun is shining through the living room window. I hold each one up for my 14 mo old twins to see the gorgeous, bright color in each block as each one appears to be 'lit-up'. I like to say the color name out loud as it corresponds with the beautiful block's color. These blocks are visually stunning and so well made.

We bought this set to add to our children's (ages 5, 3, and 14 months) existing collection of Haba blocks, and they all love them. They used to argue over the one kaleidoscope block that came with one of the other sets, and now there are plenty to go around. All the Haba blocks - and these are no exception - are fabulous quality that stand up to years of infant chewing and toddler throwing. These blocks in particular are lots of fun to look through and see the different visual effects. While they are easy for small babies to hold and enjoy, even my kindergardener enjoys playing with them! A nice supplement to the existing sets.

I just received these a few days ago, and already have made up my mind - these blocks are great! My 9-month old has already begun enjoying them (even though they are for 1 year+). Naturally, he loves chewing on them, and I don't mind one bit because there is no paint on the exterior. He has managed to chew paint off of the surface of other Haba toys, which I why I chose these natural wood blocks. The wood surfaces were a little rough when I received, but I don't feel that it's anything dangerous, and they are already starting to smooth out. Also, you can't tell from the picture, but the prism is only on one side of the block. The opposite side is hollow. I think these blocks are a classic that will last for years and years.
