This was a very well made toy and I'm glad I got it compared to the other Haba rings that didn't have anything inside. In terms of size, it's just right for a to hold onto and wave around. My daughter also had some fun playing with the center of the ring. However, it's too "fat" for a newborn to chew. Its surface is also a bit too soft to chew on. And since my daughter was never a chewer to begin with, she lost interest in the toy very fast.

<p>Another Haba toy that I would not buy again because it doesn't fit our needs. Even though it's well made.

We looked for a long time to find a rattle that (1) was not made in China (2) had a small enough handle for a 3 mo baby to hold (3) was lightweight enough for a 3 mo baby to hold. After buying several other rattles that turned out not to meet criteria 2 & 3, we found this one. It's perfect! It's safe, attractive, he could hold it comfortably -- and to our astonishment his gross motor skills improved dramatically within one week of playing with this toy. Playing with the colorful beads also helped develop his fine motor skills. AND he loved playing with it. I cannot recommend it highly enough; in fact we give one as a present to all the new babies we know. He still plays with it now at 11 months.

My son didn't like this toy too much. It didn't make much noise or have different textures on it. He uses it more to bang on other toys than as a teether.

This is a nice colorful wooden teether. My three month old likes to grab and teeth on this toy. He can grab it in both hands or one. However, be careful, small hands can go all the way through the ring, and small fingers can get pinched by the center pieces.

I got this rattle for my son when he was 4 months old. It was much easier for him to grip than other rattles and he loved the colors. He's now 8 months old and still loves it. I know as he gets older it will continue to entertain him as he figures out how to manipulate the bars.
