I brought this for my 2 1/2 year old and he feels so proud to screw the pieces on like a big boy. Love this toy....

 Not for under 2

Well, I guess they write the age recommendations for a reason... I bought this toy for my 18 month old son that loves to fiddle with his daddy's real tools. Unfortunately, its actually easier for him to unscrew a REAL screw and bolt than these things. They are large for little hands. Well made like ALL the Plan Toys, but not for under 2.

My daughter is only 1 and she loves these. She cant quite screw/unscrew things yet but she can turn a few pieces on here! They are very bright and good for the imagination! We have them set up to stand on there own and she moves them around like people! I love that you can put them together so many ways!!

 Nuts & Bolts People!
When my then 20 month old son could twist off bottle caps, push, turn, and open childproof medicine caps, I knew I needed to find a toy that allowed him to safely unscrew and screw on "caps." This larger than expected Nuts & Bolts toy fit the bill. By 24 months my son could unscrew all the nuts, and now at 26 months he has the nuts arranged back on the bolts to look like a man and woman. A coincidence? (The nuts can be arranged in various patterns.) This is a sturdy, vibrantly colored toy that travels well in diaper bags and in the car.
