Orchard Game

Orchard is a nice little first game for very young children who are learning counting and game playing skills like taking turns, rolling dice, setting up a game. There is just a hint of strategy involved and it can be played cooperatively, helpful for sibling bonding. This game has very high quality pieces: wooden fruits and real littlel baskets to gather the fruit in. The pieces are so appealing, even my six year old daughter (now an avid chess player) still takes this game out on occasion just because she enjoys the tactility of this game and the concept of getting the fruit before the Raven does. If you are looking for a first game for your child, or want to add to a young child's game shelf, this is a good game for kids from about two to five years old.

This is a fun game for younger kids - one I remember playing with my sister 12 yrs younger than me as childs. I am buying it for my three year old. It is a good first game - helps learn the concept of a game, early math skills, colors, and fruits. I only wish that the fruit pieces weren't a choking hazard for my 6 month old. We won't be able to play when she is around.

My son loves this game. It's simple, beautifully made, and easy to play.

This is a nice game with cooperative focus. It can be hard to find games for toddlers... this one is great for 3 and up.

This is my 4yo daughter's favorite game. She loves that we all work together to beat the raven. She loves setting up the game and playing with all of the little pieces. Several of her friend's parents have bought this game after playing it at our house. It is a very fun game for preschoolers. You won't be sorry about buying this one.
