Our 16 month old daughter enjoys these blocks for the most part. She seems most interested in the bright pink ones, so I think the colour really engages her more than the blocks themselves. She has a few other block brands and seems to gravitate towards those more than these, however, I think with a little time, these blocks will work their way up the ladder of play. The different shapes and the amount you recieve is great for building and creativity.
