We got the Baroque set (along with the Antiquity set) for our son for Christmas when he was just under 7 yrs. old. He was very happy to have it. This set has quite a few pieces, and it was a challenge for him to build it at first, for there are no instructions in the box; you only follow the picture. He needed our help the first time (and it took some thinking on our part too), but after that, he was able to make this beautiful building all by himself. The pretty green trees and shrubs are a nice addition too. All blocks are smooth...the bldg. blocks are unfinished, the greenery is varnished. I am very impressed with these sets and hope to get my son some more. His next wish is for the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
