This unique ball is shaped like a bright red apple, but holds a secret inside. The apple opens up in four sections to reveal a happy caterpillar, munching away inside. Great for young children who love opening and closing containers, discovering and uncovering mysteries.

Made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Wash in cool water or surface clean with a damp cloth and air dry.

Designed with care in Germany by Ines Froemet.

I was disappointed with this toy when I got it. I normally love Haba toys, but I'm just not impressed with this one. The worm rattle is absolutely adorable, but my son doesn't seem to enjoy playing with it. It just doesn't keep his attention. At this point he isn't able to hold the apple it's a bit big for his hands, maybe he will like it more then.

At 7 mos, dear baby liked batting this around, and it took about 2 more weeks for her to figure out how to open it. It's very cute, but she lost interest in it for a few months after she figure out how it opens and closes (it sort of opens in 4 sections, like apple slices. We haven't had any trouble with it staying closed. She's now, at a year, starting to get more interested in it again, since she understands what it is-- an apple and a worm. At 7 mos, it was just a thing. Now, it's starting to have a story. I like the soft rattle in the worm, but wish the fabric was a bit softer. I'm always a bit disappointed at Haba's fabric-- they always feel a bit coarser than I imagine they will.

This is a beautiful and cute toy..right now my 7 mo daughter uses it as a ball but I'm sure as she gets older she'll get more involved with it. I do wish the catepillar inside was a little smaller, we're having trouble getting the apple to stay shut (why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) hopefully the more used it gets the easier it will be.

This is one of those toys that I just had to get even though my daughter is a bit young for it...mainly because I thought it was too cute! My daughter is 9 months and likes to watch me open the "apple" and show the worm, but doesn't know how to do it herself yet. She does enjoy holding the apple and chewing on it. This is a great Haba product!

Not only does our one year old love to open and close the apple to find the little worm inside but we have also begun putting other little things inside for her to find, such as her pacifiers, ribbons and little shakers. She has a great time pulling the apple apart and discovering what is inside. A great toy for cause and effect learning!
