I bought this for my son when he was a year old. For a long time he didn't "get" it, but once he understood that you're supposed to drag it behind you, then he loved it. It's very well made, and has very attractive colors. I've received many compliments on it whenever friends come over with little ones for play dates.

<p>Here are a couple things to note, however:

<p>1) The flag tends to fall out of the boat. Perhaps it's by design--for safety reason, maybe, so that if a child falls on the boat the flag doesn't stab him in the eye? Anyway, one is supposed to insert it into a loop inside the boat. But this is difficult to do for a toddler, who doesn't have the most dexterous fingers.

<p>2) The more frustrating part is that it's hard for a young child to stuff the bear into the "seat belt" inside the boat. The seat belt is supposed to prevent the bear from falling out while the child pull the toy, but it's quite tight, and my son always needs help from me.

<p>Other than the two points above, it's a pretty fun and beautiful toy.

My daughter received this toy as a gift before she was born. As a newborn she played with the bear alone, and now, as a 10-month old, she likes to place small objects inside the boat. It's a simple, well-designed, well-made and attractive toy that has grown with her. A wonderful gift for a new baby.
