I bought these for my daughter for Christmas last year when she was one. My mother bought another set for her second birthday. She really enjoys the feeling of accomplishment when she builds with them. My son, who is now nine months, likes playing with them as well, and I am happy knowing that they are safe for him if he puts them in his mouth! My older kids also spend time building with the blocks even when the little ones aren't around!

We bought the 13-block set for my son when he was about 13 months after reading all the positive reviews. He really likes these blocks. At first, he would play with 2 blocks with 1 peg essentially, learning how to stack them. And, as he got better, he would use the ones with 2 pegs as well. 13 blocks is about a good size for now. I think he would be overwhelmed with more. I like the outstanding quality. They fit really well into the pegs and the columns even fit into the half circle of the arch. He has been throwing them on the floor and in their box when he was smaller and the paint hasn't chipped and the wood is barely dented (you have to really look to see anything). I also like the diversity of colors and the pieces are very well thought out. It makes him think about how to stack his blocks to use the available blocks and he often starts out with something and then moves the blocks when he realizes that he cannot use the remaining ones. The arch is still a little bit hard to use, so he usually use it as a 1st story. We also have 1-pegged baby legos that he doesn't really care for, so we were able to appreciate the difference with these pegged wooden blocks. The fact that they can stand so well as you keep stacking makes a big difference. We don't feel the need for a bigger set at this point, but if we ever do, I would definitely have no second thoughts getting another set.

My son who just turned 1 received these blocks from his grandma for birthday present. He received other blocks but these are his favorite because it is easy to stack and it doesn't get knocked over easily due to its design. I like how it works like Legos but a lot easier to stack/take apart and they are perfect size for babies. The color is really bright so it's captivating for little ones, too. HABA is our favorite toy brand and we have many many toys by them. You just know that they're reliable and safe. I would definitely get more of these in coming months.

I bought these from my son except we bought the bigger set with more blocks. These blocks are great. My son is finally started to play independantly thanks to these blocks. He likes to stack them up and knock them them. Great toy! Very well made.

I bought these blocks for my daughter when she turned one and she really enjoys them. The pieces are a good size so they're easy for her to handle and perfect for little hands -- and you don't have to worry about them being a choking hazard. The "lego"-like aspect to these blocks really help in terms of stacking them to form a tower, and my daughter spends alot of time trying out different ways to stack the blocks. It's become such a favorite that, like many of the other reviewers, I'm going to buy the 27 block set when it's back in stock!
