Combine fun and visual math development [104 OF 227 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
Aside from the high quality, the wonderful colors and the nice shapes that fascinate my girls over and over, this puzzle is great in that it foments the child�s fantasy and sense of geometry and symmetry, which I believe are an important foundation for their visual mathematical development. I think this puzzle really lets children experiment and combine the pieces in different ways and there is not �one correct� solution like in a conventional puzzle. Once kids realize that this is a more flexible puzzle they are willing to play independently.

This is a very pretty toy; every piece is beautiful to hold & look at. We started playing with this when my daughter just turned 3. At first, we would arrange the pieces flat on the board in the logical shapes & make pretty designs, but my daughter felt it was too hard to do on her own. The frame is a little larger than the pieces put together so they tend to slide around a bit & it takes some coordination to get them all in the perfect arrangement. Then we began experimenting and using our imaginations with this toy - pretending to make parks, slides, pools,gardens, putting the pieces on their sides, on the edges of the frame & suddenly this toy became a favorite for my daughter even for playing alone. Opening our minds to non-symetrical arrangements was the key for a child of my daughter's age and abilities - everything still looks beautiful no matter how you arrange. The end arrangement is always very satifying to see. I expect she will become more interested in symetrical arrangements as she gets older, so this toy will be not be outgrown for many many years.
