My daughter, just turned 3, loves to play with these pegs, and is very proud of the different patterns she is able to make with them. As other posters mentioned, the only drawback is that the pegs are small and must be kept away from younger children in the house. But otherwise, this is a great toy for little minds!

My girls (3 and 5) like to play with this toy often. They create lots of pictures and patterns. I just wish it was a little bigger. I failed to look at the dimensions.

For a three or four year old. My daughter didn't quite get it when she was two, but now enjoys it immensely and makes up stories for her little peg people. Also good for teaching math when home schooling. The pegs are quite small, and may pose a choking hazard for small siblings.

Endless possibilties, imaginative fun [70 OF 127 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
We just put this out in our preschool class for kids ages 3 to almost 4. It was an instant hit. The pegs are easy for them to handle and place in the holes. They use them to sort by color, make patterns, pictures, and even for imaginative play. Making birthday cakes with lots of tall candles is the current favorite theme. With guided play you could even use this to build math skills. The board and brilliantly colored pegs are very sturdy. At school we stress not putting toys in our mouths (germs!) so I can't attest to the chewability of the pegs. The pegs are a bit on the small side for chewing on anyway. I think the 3+ age recommendation was right on. My only issue is I wish the board came with 10 holes (not 9) on each side so we could teach the kids to count by tens. Considering how much the kids love it though it seems a small complaint!
