Mary and Joseph of Nazareth are traveling. On their journey Mary goes into labor. After the couple is turned away from inns along the way to Bethlehem, a kind shepherd allows them to seek refuge in his barn. It is there that baby Jesus is born and laid in a manger. Unknown to the new parents, three wise men are following a bright star which hovers above the manger where baby is laid. Upon arrival, each wise man gives a gift to the baby: gold, frankincense (incense from African and Asian trees) and myrrh (aromatic herb).
