My 15 month old son and husband 'bowl' constantly! My son is still too young to actually bowl, but they have a blast knocking the pins down and setting them up. I know it will be a favorite toy for a long time. The pins are a lot bigger than you might think, very sturdy/colorful and come in canvas bag for storage. You have to work to knock the pins down, which is half the fun. The pins do not work well on thick carpet, which is something to consider before buying. They work great on hard wood floors.

Knock 'em Down! [47 OF 115 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
This has got to be the best bowling set for a little boy to have! The goblin pins come in nice bright colors that are fun to have around. No one wants toys scattered everywhere, but if they've got to be on the floor, have them be happy and decorative--right? Also, unlike the usual plastic sets, you do actually have to knock the pins over. I wish the balls were a little bigger though, but for safety purposes (ouch they HURT), the size is good and won't kill any furniture. And for playing purposes, they do work at knocking the pins over, though my 2 year old has to get pretty close. My husband really enjoys 'going bowling' with our son now, and it is nice to have a toy that they can play with together.
