Customer Service Questions, 02-11-09
Hi my name is Milanie Cleere, I am the CEO of Oompa. I am in the beautiful city of Chicago. I am in Millennium Park and behind me is the world famous Bean. I am also standing with crutches, the newest accessory for 2009, and it is because I fell down a flight of stairs and fractured my ankle.
Is Haba leaving the North American market?
There seems to be a rumor floating somewhere out there on the internet that Haba in pulling out of the US market, and to clarify, that is not the case, Haba is committed to staying in the US market. However, one of our other German manufacturers is pulling out of the US market, and that company is Selecta. So unfortunately, for those of you who have seen our 2009 Toy Book, you will see that we do have a plethora of Selecta items in there. The good news is that we still have quite a high stock and inventory of those items, but after our current inventory is depleted, we will not be reordering and Selecta will no longer be shipping within the United States.
How will the CPSC ruling affect Oompa?
We have received many questions about how the CPSC ruling about toy safety will affect Oompa Toys and our manufacturers. The good news is that all of our manufacturers already meet or exceed American and European safety standards. All of us at Oompa support safe toys and are working with our manufacturers to help ensure that they comply.
Oompa Highlights Lillebaby
Lisbeth Lehan: Lillebaby is a Norwegian brand, a Scandinavian brand. It was started in 2001. I saw that a lot of the products that were available in Europe, and particularly Scandinavian countries were not available here. So I decided to start designing products that had inspiration from the Scandinavian countries, but was made for the US market and our lifestyle here.
We have two lines of product. One is the Lillebaby Everywear, its an all-in-one carrier and you can use it on the front, on the back, and you can also carry it on your hip. Then we have the Eurotote, which simplifies transporting a baby. You carry it over your shoulder, and the child is allowed to lay horizontally.
Safety
Our products are JPMA certified. The product, the fabric, the colors, everything has gone through thorough, thorough testing. Therefore, it is one of the very few carriers that are certified.
Lillebaby is all about simplifying life with a baby, and is simplifying the Scandinavian tradition of making baby products.
