It's a bit challenging for my 9month old but he loves to pick up the pieces. It won't be long before he can put the pieces into the correct spots.

This is a great little puzzle that is very well made. My son enjoys taking the pieces out with the little knobs. The pictures are painted right onto the wood instead of stuck on with a sticker. This is great for a child who puts everything in their mouth like mine does. The picture will not come off. I am a little nervous about the orange cone being a choking hazard. I've put that one away until he stops putting it in his mouth. It's a little too small in my opinion. We love the zoo version too!

Our 14 month old son has really started to get into shape sorting, & this puzzle is a nice challenge for him. It's a toy that we play with together, so he doesn't get too frustrated. I like that there are different sized pieces. I will definitely be getting more Selecta puzzles.

My son is only 10 months (and closely monitored while playing with the puzzle), he practices his pincher grasp to pick up each individual piece. The pieces are good "talking points." I describe what the piece is and what it does. We use the pieces outside of the tray as well-- we place pieces above, beside, or below the construction worker.

My 19-month-old has thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle since we got it when he was about 15 months old. At first, some of the pieces were just challenging enough to keep him working at it for a while. It is too easy for him now, but he still loves it because of the construction theme. So I definitely recommend this puzzle, but you can get it earlier than the recommended 1 1/2.
