Great book - serves many functions [10 OF 29 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
My son has loved this book from day 1. His favorite thing is to suck on the bead that holds the cord binding together. He also loves looking at the pictures & 'flips' through it himself! He gives a big smile and babbles to the animals - it is so cute. I especially like how sturdy the book is as it has fallen many times onto our wood floors and still holding up!

Little Book for Little Fingers [42 OF 75 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
This is a wonderful book for babies and young toddlers too, especially for those that like to put everything in their mouths. I got this for my son when he was about 6 months and he enjoyed looking at the pictures and mouthing the wood. When he became a bit older, he began turning the pages on his own, and studying the pictures more. I am especially pleased with the safety and durability of this book. My son's other board books have fallen apart - the binding is gone, the pages are shredded... But these wooden Selecta books are wonderful. I wish there were more storybooks made with such high quality and material.

My 17 mo old continues (for the past 5 mo) to be enchanted by this little book. It's the perfect size for his hands. The pictures are interesting without being complicated. Each animal has a favorite object or food. Whenever my child's fussy in the car, I hand him this book and he entertains himself and cheers up. I wish Selecta made more like this one.

Very nice First Book for Children [250 OF 495 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
When my first 2 were little, I didn't have wooden books for them. I remember buying a vinyl book for my first one, but the strong chemical odor of it made it very unappealing to me and so I disposed of it. I went to cardboard books which are nice, but they do get a bit worn out when the child is very young. When my son, who is now 7, was born, I found a catalog that sold some Selecta wooden books. I was so thrilled to have some wooden books for him. They are very sturdy and have colorful pictures. They make a pleasing clack when you turn the page. We have photos of him crawling while the book is hanging out of his mouth (he liked to suck on the bead that is attatched to the string). And being varnished wood and not cardboard, it is easy to keep these clean with a quick wash with soap and water on a damp cloth. I can't think of anything negative to say about these books and I am sure you will like them. Mine are packed away with the other wooden baby toys; they are definite "keepers" and will still be bright and fresh for the grandchildren.
