Hello! My name is Milanie Cleere, I’m CEO of Oompa Toys. Today is Friday, June 20th, 2008. We decided to get out of our warehouse, once again and we are in downtown Madison along State Street with the Capital right in back of us.
We are going to start with customer service questions. The first question is from Leylie and she is located outside the 48 contiguous United States. Leylie wrote to us she said she was shopping on the site and during checkout she noticed the $20 shipping surcharge even though she had ordered over $65 worth of products. Leylie it sounds like your shipping address was either in Alaska or Hawaii and unfortunately, due to the increased cost of shipping those orders, we do need to pass along the $20 surcharge to you. This also applies to APO orders.
The next question is from Ivy in Virginia. Ivy would like to know if we price match. Ivy, unfortunately, we do not price match. Oompa does offer three benefits to shopping. We don’t charge sales tax, we offer free shipping on most orders over $65 and we have the loyalty rewards program which allows you to earn points that can be used as discounts on future order. I feel that those few benefits more than make up for the nominal benefits that you may find on other competitor websites.
Oompa Highlights Bajo
I want to highlight a brand that we carry, Bajo. The entire line of Bajo wooden toys was designed and made in Poland. It includes baby toys, toddler toys, wooden books and a line of wooden cars. These were designed by a professor at the University of Krakow named Moyjavic Bayor. Mr. Bayor was kind enough to design an exclusive, entirely brand new line of jumbo wooden cars exclusively for Oompa Toys because so many of you, our customers, requested them. Bajo wooden toys are made out of all natural wooden materials. They are machine-milled and then hand finished under fair trade, fair labor conditions and they are finished by artisans located near the Carpathian Mountains in Poland.
