October 1st, 2008
HI, my name is Milanie Cleere and I’m the CEO of Oompa Toys. Today is Wednesday, October 1st, 2008. I am standing in what will very soon be the first Oompa Toys retail store. I’ve been talking about this for many months and we are very quickly moving towards an opening date. The plumbing is done, the electrical is done, the floors are being finished and they’ve started to paint which means that we are getting very close to opening, which is both exciting and terrifying at the same time. So check back in about a week or so and I’ll be able to tell you exactly when the store will be opening.
Customer Questions
Amanda from New York wrote to us. She works at an architectural firm and she would like us to customize some Haba blocks for her. Amanda, first, thank you for thinking of us. However, we are not in the business of designing and customizing toys for retail clients. I know that Haba will do this for customers on occasion and for blocks, I know that for blocks, the quantity they require is a few thousand. However, I will happily send you the contact information. You can find it on the website at HabaUSA.com and anyone there will help.
Kara from King’s Canyon, Arizona, wrote to us and she’d like to know how to get a charitable contribution from Oompa Toys. Kara, I’m more than happy to contribute to any organization that benefits children. It’s something I look forward to and feel privileged to be able to do for children. However, because the number of requests I received, I started to have to put a budget, I know it sounds so adult, but I just have to put a budget around charitable contributions. To be considered, please send me the following by regular mail: Your organization name, mission statement, federal taxpayer ID, the events purpose and number of attendees or participants. Also note that to be considered for a charitable contribution from Oompa Toys, your organization must be listed as tax exempt as defined under the internal revenue code section 5013.
Oompa Highlights P’kolino
P’kolino is one of my favorite children’s furnishing companies. It was founded by 2 dads, Jay and Antonio, who I just had the pleasure of meeting with just a couple of weeks ago. These two met at an MBA program at Babson and when they were at their MBA program they decided that they didn’t want to work in corporate America. They looked around at the children’s furnishing market and decided that there was a need for ultra-modern kid’s play furniture. P’kolino has created several new products. These include the toddler bed, play table, a children’s desk, a craft table and a book buddy. To see these and other P’kolino products, visit Oompa.com and click on P’kolino in the left navigation.
