My 18 month old was given this toy for Christmas and it has been a big hit. He loves to put the pegs(nails) in the holes and twist the screws. He is starting to bang the hammer as well. This toy has also been a big hit with the three year olds in our play group. I did use a rubber band to firmly secure the top and bottom tray since they do not permanently attach. I do like that the bench does come apart for easy storage.

This is a great toy!! My 2yo son plays "tools" all day. It has great storage for other tools too.
We did add some simple wood glue when putting it together to keep it tight.

This is a fun toy set. I know it says 3+ years, but we gave it to our 15-month-old daughter for Christmas this year. We did put a few of the pieces up for later. She loves to bang with the hammer and put the nails in the holes. She quickly figured out how to turn the wood clamp. The toy is very easy to assemble; it took less than 10 minutes. I agree with another review that the bench comes apart easily. We are considering gluing the bottom tray and the bench to the supports with wood glue. The bench is short. I think it is designed for sitting and playing, not standing. Overall, after the gluing, this toy will grow with her and stay around for several years. A good investment!

This is a really gorgeous toy, so much so I couldn't wait to give it to my tool loving 3 year old. The wood is so smooth and silky, no fear of splintering. He uses it with ease, and I can tell it feels like a *real* workshop. All your little tool lovers derseve a workbench like this.

We received the pratical tool set as a gift. It's a very cute toy and both my 3 year old daughter and one year old son love it. However, when they play with it, it easily becomes disassembled to the point where all the main structure pieces come apart. We ended up having to put the table together five times today. I'm not sure the table is suppsed to do that but all the joints are big and loose so with a slight push all the pieces come apart. There are no screws or nails of any kind. We have toys similar to the way this is put together but the joints are tight and they don't come apart. Or at least my kids can't take them apart in one minute.
