Out Of The Classroom & Into The Woods

Emily Hanford has written an interesting article for NPR about a Vermont kindergarten teacher who takes her students outside for the entire school day every Monday -- rain or shine.  A real connection to the planet and our environment is a critical part of educating the "whole child," and we'd love to see more of this in our US education system. What do you think?

I think she is the smartest, teacher in the whole world. When they go outside of there classroom all the senses are alive, the smell, feel, touch and our beautiful world all become one. They can read about it, but to actually see it ,is a different story..We need to go back to the old days, the more simple the better. We need to show our children to love our earth, so that they can continue to take care of it…
