HABA
Company History
Founded in 1938 by Eugen Habermaass and his wife Luise in Bad Rodach, Germany, Haba has
remained a family owned and run company to this day. Their first products were smooth, carefully polished building
blocks for babies, made from locally derived hardwoods. These same wooden blocks are still made today, along with a vast
array of wooden, cloth and high quality plastic children's products, in everything from room décor to baby rattles, and
gifts for children of all ages.
The Haba Standard
Haba toys are made in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified workshops, with rigorous quality
control and attention to detail in mind at all times. To design and create their numerous products, Haba employs over
1,500 people, including nine product designers, two graphic designers, photographers, carpenters and many more. Haba
employees are known throughout the world for their dedication to creating educational, enriching and well-made toys for
children of all ages.
