Goes great on crackers [42 OF 103 PEOPLE FOUND THIS HELPFUL]
Gets played with from time to time, but only if my daughter is buttering her HABA crackers. May be a little more abstract for her than some of the other food items, since the "butter" just sits in the tin and doesn't dish up when scraped with the knife...

This is a great pretend item, and it couldn't be cuter. The tin is adorable, and the lid fits well but is easy for little kids to take off. It is great to pretend butter toast or pancakes. It is small, but proportionally small. My son carries this around, opening and closing the lid showing people. He must think it is cute too.

Like the other reviewers, it's amazing to me that something so simple can be such a hit. This was bought to accessorize a kitchen set, and so far it's far and away one of her favorite things to play with, maybe because she likes to 'hide' things away in little boxes anyway, like her hair clips. Very cute!

After 6 months my almost-3-year old daughter does not play with this much. It looks cute, but I do not think it really encourages pretend play. It just isn't that close to butter. I am considering adhering a thin rectangle of craft foam to the surface of the butter to encourage her to drag her knife across it. I think this may give it that soft resistence of scraping butter.

This toy is a great addition to any little chef's play kitchen! It's a little 'pat' of wooden butter in a tin, with a lid that easy to get on and off again. We love to use it with our wooden butter knife on 'freshely' toasted bread! Lots of smiles!
