Bought this for my 2 yr granddaughter. The quality is 110% however limited uses. For the price, I wish I would of picked something else.

My 2 1/2 year old son really enjoys playing with the peg garden. When I saw this, I knew it would be perfect for him. He likes stacking things; he likes butterflies; and he's interested in flowers. Neither my husband nor I see this as a gender-specific toy. It's a toy about things he sees in nature. My son especially likes to stack the pieces and then spin them around on the pegs. Many pieces have a plain side and an embellished side (a swirl, a mirror, a smiley face, etc.) which create a nice visual when spun. He's especially fond of the butterfly.

I got this toy for my daughter's first birthday after reading all the great reviews. It is a really nice toy, and she does like it. However, when there are no flowers or shapes on the pegs-it is really just a large wooden peg to stab your child. My husband noticed this right away, and we have been really careful to monitor her play with this toy, keeping it up on a table and making sure it is put away when it is not played with. But yesterday, it happened, and she fell on it (from a seated position) and it got her really bad in the neck. I was in the room, less than 5 feet away, and the next thing I knew she was beet red with big tears down her face. At least it wasn't her eye-which it easily could have been. Haba makes such great toys, I am really shocked that this one got past them. My daughter is now 21 months old, well past the recommended age for this toy.

I purchased this toy for my 19 month old daughter for Christmas, everyone in our family loves it, my 4 year old son also likes to help his sister, since there is more than one peg, they both can play together. The blocks are smooth, and vibrantly painted with adorable embellishments on a few. The toy comes with more blocks than will fit on the pegs, we just have the remaining blocks in a little basket.
