A wonderfully simple step-by-step approach to origami for young beginners. Each sheet of paper in the set is colorfully designed and features clearly marked fold lines, which children can follow to make many different animals from boars to foxes. To complete the animals, use the included stickers to add whiskers, eyes, and a touch of personality! We love this simple approach to a fine art form. Fun for a rainy day.

My oldest is 5, which is at the lower end of the recommended age range. This is likely why we ran into a little difficulty. She is not quite old enough to fully grasp proper folding as is needed for origami. Still, though, she enjoyed making the various animals in the kit and had a lot of fun once we got past the complaints of "why won't the paper do what I want it to do?!".

I very much so loved that the kit comes with plenty of paper to fold! You can make 4 of each animal. Two of each already have faces, and two of each require stickers or drawing. Stickers, of course, are also provided. The paper is durable enough that the animals can be played with after folding, as well, extending the fun factor. The colors are bright, and the patterns are such that they resemble the drawings of a child. These are definitely a fun project to have available on rainy days when your kids get bored!

perfect rainy/snowy day activity

We had fun making these animals. The 7 year old and I made them, everyone else played with them and gave them decorations (coloring faces, etc.). It was a really fun way to spend a rainy day, as well as a great way to practice precise folding, following directions, and some math skills with the 7yo.
