Our New Favorite Puzzle!

The first thing I noticed was the box. With 3 children, puzzle boxes never last, yet this one is sturdy and durable. It will definitely be around to keep puzzle pieces in for a long time! Upon opening the box, I noticed the pieces themselves are also built to last! They're a heavy, dense type of cardboardesque material so they won't be easy for kids to bend and break. I don't even think a teething baby could do much damage to them!
The colors are bright and vibrant, and the changing patterns keep the dragon fun and challenging. My 5yo had to stop and look at each piece to make sure she had the right one, which made me love the puzzle more since it's causing her to work on observation skills and paying attention to detail. The pieces are a large size, so even my 2yo was easily able to participate with only a little help from his big sis.
One thing I found extra amazing is that the puzzle comes with a mini-dragon as a reference. While kids have the picture on the box to look at, they also have a small dragon in the shape of the completed puzzle to look at for comparison. I found my kids used this dragon more than the picture when checking colors and patterns while searching for the next piece! It also came in handy as a distraction for the 18mo who kept trying to run off with needed puzzle pieces.
The only downside I can think of is I cannot get them to put the puzzle away! They love the dragon once completed, and are mesmerized by the puzzle being in the shape of the giant beast!
