Go figure. Anyways, I do have a background in art and appreciate architecture and I love blocks. I am using lots of the Haba master builder block sets as a toy in our home school because I like the way they gently lead into subjects such as history, geography and architecture while maintaining a spirit of fun (or in some cases vice versa). Anyways, whether or not you home school, these blocks really do help encourage children to use their minds in many ways as they explore history, recreate buildings and use their own imagination The nice thing about the US Capitol set is that after you have figured out the Capitol, you still have blocks in the neoclassical style to create your own, alternate designs from. He got this set for his 4th birthday and we play with it daily. At 4, it's a little too difficult for him to follow the pattern exactly, but he likes to build a mini-Capitol & uses his imagination & the other blocks to make other DC buildings.
