This set of soft blocks from HABA is pretty wonderful. With lots of bright colors and featuring many different textures, there are also surprising details, such as bells, crinkly fabric, mirrors and Velcro tabs, that my son has loved discovering each piece. He especially likes to shake the noise makers in his hands, creating his own music. Although these are soft blocks, there is foam on the inside to allow the blocks to maintain their shape and makes them sturdy enough that they can be stacked. My son hasn’t grasped the concept of stacking yet, but he sure does like to knock things down! We’ve had fun seeing how high I can make the towers before he reaches them. He’s only 10 months old, so he still has frequent tumbles while he’s learning to stand and walk. I like that these blocks are soft enough that I don’t have to worry about him hurting himself if he lands on them. I also like that they’re hand washable, because he loves to put them into his mouth, especially the cone and triangle shaped ones. The set comes in a reusable tote, which makes it portable and easy to put away for the day. Unlike a lot of HABA products, however, these blocks were made in China and not Germany. Nonetheless, I trust the HABA brand enough that I’m still very happy with these blocks.
