 interesting, but
My little one didn't find this so interesting as a baby. As a toddler, he likes it as a ball, but it doesn't roll very well at all angles (the uneven surface slows it down). That said, it works great for gravity experiments down the stairs.

 Perfect for your little crawler
My daughter enjoyed this toy the most when she started crawling around 7 months. She loved chasing it, always wondering which way it would go. She lost interest a few months later when she started walking.

 Fun, Fun, Fun

We bought this for our son when he was 6-months old and he loved it immediately. It is a little big and tough for him to pick up, as the other reviewers mentioned, but this just makes it even more interesting to him. He can put his fingers between the slats and loves to try to get it in his mouth. He is almost 9 months now and is still entertained, now starting to roll the ball and scoot himself after it. The only complaint is that the colors fade a little when you wash it (we have only wiped it with a cloth as the manufacturer suggests). Still, I would definitely buy this toy again.

 Silly Ball!

Due to its shape you never quite know what direction it will go! Its beautifully made and can see my daughter enjoying it for a long time. We purchased it when she was 6 months and would try to hold it and it would roll away from her. Now she can pick it up to chew and soon will be rolling it across the room!

 Better for older babies

I bought the ballino for my daughter when she was 7 months old and she wasn't very interested in it b/c the toy was too big for her to hold. Now that she's 13 months and crawling, she loves to push it and watch it wobble across the floor. She's starting to make the Ballino clack on her own, although she still needs a little help and likes me to do it for her! Although the recommended age for this toy is 6 months +, I think it's more appropriate for children 1 year +. Overall, it's a beautiful, well-made product.
