tent is beautiful and appears quite durable
Yes, this tent is more expensive than ones for sale at a big box store. But I have seen those tents and my daughter has played in them, and I honestly believe the quality of this Haba tent is better and worth the money, especially if you are looking for something that will be left up and played with regularly.
The tent comes in a small zippered carrying case and the legs kind of snap together and go into special channels inside the tent. It took less than 5 minutes to put together. The material of the tent is a more cottony, fabric-like material than other play tents. It breathes and it lets light in—important for long term play. The colors are lighter and brighter than they look in online pictures and the design is printed not appliquéd (a little disappointing). The walls are bright blue with lime green trim and pink details. There are some perfect Haba touches that I always both expect and am delighted by—the interior of the door flaps are lined in pink gingham and the door “handles” look like leaves. The roof of the tent is bright lime green which lets in a soft light. There are two small open windows and a large mesh window to let in light and air.
The tent is larger than I had expected, while still fitting neatly in a corner. It is the perfect size for a few little kids and for one or two bigger kids. Since we got it, my daughter has been filling the tent with stuffed animals and dolls and has even dragged me in there for a few tea parties (it’s a tight fit, but doable).
