My boys love this game. They have so much fun "sailing" the boats. They have to think about which island to sail to next. They always want to play the game.

I bought this game for my niece and nephew for Christmas. They loved the game, but there was a slight learning curve to the game. The tool used to blow the ships around is something you have to practice with a little bit to avoid tipping over the ships or crashing into the islands. After that was mastered we all had a blast.

My sons love to play this game. It took a little time for them to get use to the "wind", but once they did they love it. They have fun sailing the different ships into harbors and acting out the pirate as they play! I would definitely recommend this to others.

Winner of the "Kritikerpreis Kinderspiel des Jahres 2006", this board game is our family's new favorite! The board 'puzzle-pieces' together, which is our 3 yr old's 'job', and the 4 yr old is in charge of placing the 'pieces of gold' onto the islands per each roll of the dice. Even Grandpa had fun playing this with us! It comes with a large rubber bulb for blowing gusts of 'wind' at the cute little boats, which works great for big kids and grown-ups but we added our own baby's nasal bulb for the smaller kid-size hands. The islands are three-dimensional, which makes it easier to 'sail' around them and the game as a whole is well designed and a delight to handle. You get to play 'the pirate' if the dice rolls to that and that is a fun perspective for a turn...The gold pieces are yellow disks, definitely a choking hazard but we just don't let the baby near them. A beautiful and interesting game of 'chance' and 'skill' with some math, too!
