The best of the best is available at 10 Hape Lane. The house is very large and boasts 6.5 spacious rooms on multiple floors. Lucky dolls will enjoy a somewhat open floor plan. The residence is set up with gracious entertaining spaces. This includes a relaxing master suite, living room, bedroom, bathroom, nursery, attic and “storage room” (This is attached to the living room, but only really accessible from the side. It is a great place to store extra dolls and such). You will certainly enjoy the amazing views of the playroom through unique circle windows. There are soaring ceilings with a fabulous double chandelier. This truly is a space for every doll and offers a very low maintenance lifestyle. Hape paid a lot of attention to detail in flooring, windows, and furniture. There are a variety of floor types through this home ranging from beautiful hardwood floors, tile, and laminate. It is more than move-in ready with modern furniture. Hape takes it to a higher standard by including a rubber duck and towels for the bathroom and pots, pans, mixer, and towels in the kitchen. Enjoy relaxing on your private balcony, which can be moved to almost any room to suit your every need. Not only is this a great buy, but will also save you money on this beautiful home through the use of its eco-friendly and green solar panels.

This dollhouse arrived packaged in another cardboard box and in great condition. The box measurements were 29.9 x 24.6 x 4.7 inches and it weighed 16.8 pounds. When we opened it, we found the dollhouse box itself had a handle. This made it much easier to bring to the room to put together, especially given the size and weight.

My three-year-old daughter and I carefully laid out all the pieces and began to read the directions. It started out very smooth and she was actually quite helpful and enthusiastic to say the least. The directions were very easy to follow and thought I may get through this all sans husband. Once I got to a place where I needed to add on the front of the house and line up all the floors, it became a bit more difficult. This required more than just a three year old and myself. I set her off to unwrap all of the fabulous furniture while my husband helped me to finagle the pieces and attempt to get them all in line. Even after moving around some of the pieces (that were the same and did not matter which were used) we realized not all of the pieces were going to be flush. We were finally able to get it screwed together and my daughter was absolutely mesmerized.

There are so many positives about this dollhouse. It is large enough for multiple children to play with it at a time without getting in each other’s way. There are plenty of rooms and additional storage. The colors are bright, cheery, and gender neutral. There is fabulous attention to detail in both the house and the furniture. The fact that the roof can change to match the season was a real hit. Some room for improvement would lie in the assembly, making sure all pieces are cut to fit easily. Children are quick to realize there are not enough staircases to get to each floor. They include 2, but for dolls to actually get to and fro each level, 5 would be needed. My daughter brought to my attention that there “needs” to be a door handle on the inside of the door. This brought her a bit of frustration as she had her dolls try and open it for guests. While the furniture is adorable and well made, it does seem to be smaller than other brands. I think it is important to only use Hape furniture in this house (if purchased the unfurnished one) for this reason, I don’t think it would fit due to scale and size of rooms.

This dollhouse is perfect for both boys and girls age 3 and up (due to small pieces such as ducky, pots, pan, and mixer). It is an amazing toy to promote role-play and imagination. My daughter played with it for hours on end. Her dialogue between the dolls and the detail of their conversations amazed me. It presented perfect learning opportunities for me to step in and play with her while slipping in some social skill lessons.

I highly recommend this dollhouse and other toys by Hape. They make solid, high quality, wood toys. I will definitely buy more toys from them in the future as gifts, for my own child, and the classroom.
