Pound the six pegs till they drop with our Tatoo Tap Too Pounder. The colorful wooden pieces will slid through the holds with a few gentle taps with the matching mallet. This stylish, modern design will look great in any play room and the high quality wood will stand up to even the toughest players. We love that the mallet can be stored in the pounder for neat storage. This wooden pounding toy was designed in France by Janod.

Looking for a toy I would probably not have chosen this one but my two year old boy loves the Tatoo Tap Too Pounder. Finally he has something to hit without making his mom or dad angry. He trained his eye-hand coordination in first using his hands to push the pegs through the holes, then he used the mallet and later he hammered the pegs from bottom up through the holes. Now that he managed this task, the toy lost some of his interest.

I admit, this toy needs some space on my shelf but it is so great looking that I do not mind. Yes, I love, too that the mallet can be stored in the pounder for neat storage. This toy is very well made and could last for generations. Unfortunately my boy managed to lose two pegs that the sculptural qualities suffered. I wish there would be replacement pegs available or the toy would be constructed in a way that the pegs don’t come off at all.

I also do not trust the paint and the laminated wood made in China to be free of harmful chemicals so I keep the toy away from my 6 months old baby. I do not want her to chew on any of painted and glued wood pieces. It’s fine for my toddler to play with it and he enjoys the hitting the toy.
