Confetti Metal Xylophone
Play a few notes with this vibrant and unique Janod Confetti Metal Xylophone! Upon taking it out of the box, I was very impressed with the realistic sound quality of this instrument. It features 12 color-coded notes to help promote pattern recognition while learning and creating new songs. The two wooden mallets are made with the same smooth finish as the shape sorting house, which is lovely for little and big hands both! The notes rest on two long strips of white felt that are glued to the bluish gray wooden frame supporting it. It is 15.2 inches long, making it an ideal size for parents with limited space for toy storage. The Confetti Xylophone is not overly heavy and my 32 month old is able to pick it up with ease. Soon after my daughter started singing away songs and playing on the xylophone, I noticed that the red paint was chipping off of one of the wooden mallets and the paint was sticking to the metal notes on the instrument. I had a hard time wiping off the paint from the xylophone and was not able to get it all off completely. I am disappointed by this, but it is still has a very nice quality of sound when played. I would definitely advise supervision with toddlers under the age of 3 years old to play with this. I will be sure to monitor when my 10 month old plays with the xylophone so he does not put the mallets with the chipped paint, in his mouth. Overall, a good product with a minor flaw with the mallet.
