Fun, Educational, Quality Puzzle with Colorful, Detailed Drawings
A viewer from Iowa City, IA
When we first pulled this puzzle out of its box, five kids surrounded it, ages 3 to 9. Each child sorted through the detailed pieces, fascinated by the colorful renderings of the skeleton, muscles, and organs. They searched for some type of game element beyond the puzzle and descriptive cards, but they enjoyed organizing the pieces and layering them over each other. In fact, I was amazed to see their engagement with the puzzle as they took turns placing pieces and identifying them.
The puzzle itself comes with a large magnetic board featuring an outline of the human body, 76 pieces, cards showing details of each body part in multiple languages, and a large stick (I still don't know what this is for) . Players reference the included cards to place the puzzle pieces and learn their names. I appreciate the size of the board, allowing multiple people to comfortably work on it together at once.
The puzzle is designated for ages 7 and up, but my 3 year-old son is currently fascinated by how the body works and he loved putting this puzzle together. My 6 year-old daughter enjoyed reading the names of pieces out loud, in both English and on the other language cards. We found it to be an enjoyable family activity and suitable for multiple ages.
I like this puzzle - the quality, the excellent drawings, and the educational element. I do wish it came with some basic ideas/games for kids to use the puzzle to learn and challenge themselves in creative ways. Ideally, a card for each gender would also be available in every language. It would also be nice to have reusable containers to hold the separate puzzle peices to keep them from getting lost and so the kids wouldn't need to sort through 76 pieces each time they played.
Overall, I believe this is a good investment at $30 and a great way to learn about the body for tactile and visual learners. Combine it with some great books about how the body functions and you have an excellent way to incorporate science into your everyday play.

Awesome learning tool and visual aid
I am homeschooling my 2 boys, ages 9 and 7 respectively. We are currently learning about human anatomy and body systems. This would make a great learning tool and visual aid to explain the human anatomy. This puzzle looks fun to do as well. This would make a great addition to our homeschool library!
