Average Customer Review: (2 Reviews) Write a Review Fun Way to Learn Chinese A viewer from PORTLAND, OR USA My children are learning just a bit of Chinese here and there from their dad, so we purchased these magnets so they had more exposure to Chinese characters. It's a nice way to supplement other learning tools. These have simplified characters along with a pronunciation guide on one side, and with the English translation on the other side. In addition to using these as a creative toy, we use these magnets to slowly introduce characters and words to our children, and to quiz them in a playful way. I imagine most children would find this quite a fascinating set to learn how different characters look, whether or not they are a serious student of the Chinese language. Pronunciation is a bit more difficult from these magnets if you don't have a reference, but you can probably find videos at your library or online resources if your child shows an interest. Did you find this review useful? yes no great for early charcter introduction A viewer from CO, USA This is great for introducing your little one to Chinese characters (and to the fact that not all writing systems look like the Roman alphabet). It's a fun variation to the magnets little ones usually play with on a refrigerator. Did you find this review useful? yes no 1-2 of 2 Warning! CHOKING HAZARD--Small Parts.
