Our Geared Shape Sorter is slightly more complex than a typical sorter. Your little one must turn the gears to align the cut out shape before he can fit the block. Once the block is dropped, it makes a satisfying clunky sound and slides out the side to keep play going. This toy will keep little ones busy and entertained as they must do a little extra work and thinking to make the blocks fit. The wooden shapes are colored to correspond to the cut out shapes on the sorter. This toy was the winner of the 2011 Parents Best Toys Award. Nicely Constructed, but a little complicated

This is a nice toy, but it is a little difficult for my daughter to operate. It tips over easily. Also the pieces slide out of the guy so there is no way to store it all together.
