Company History
Sigikid is a family owned company which has been in business for over 150 years. At the
beginning, the company, then called H. Scharrer & Koch GmbH, had virtually nothing to do with toys; they began by making
glass beads! When Theo Köhler, the great grandfather of Sigikid's current owner, took over in 1910, he slowly began to
introduce glass toys made from bead into the product line. When the next generation took over in 1968, the brand Sigikid
as we know it was born.
Quality and Care
Today, Sigikid makes an extensive line of stuffed toys for children from babies to
preschoolers, as well as soft learning toys and travel gear. All Sigikid items are made to adhere to strict standards of
quality control and design. As the good people at Sigikid say, "unless a toy is made with only the softest plush
materials and can be machine washed and returned as good as new to its owner, it's not a Sigikid." Sigikids are made to
be durable, machine washable, squishably soft, classically designed and a constant inspiration for creativity.
What's New
Recently, Sigikid has also introduced a line of designer, or executive toys called Beasts. These
stuffed animals are high-end creations, intricately designed by Sigikid for the collector and true stuffed animal
aficionado. Each Beast has its own unique, quirky personality and design, completely unlike anything we have seen
before, or are likely to see again. These hand-made toys make impressive gifts, but are produced in very limited
quantities; so be sure to get them while they last!
