Company History
The idea for Wee Gallery was conceived by husband and wife
team Dave and Surya, a teacher and a graphic designer when they became pregnant with
their son Sid. As many new parents do, Dave and Surya became voracious for
information about their child's development, to learn how they as parents could best
help their new infant to grow and learn.
Development Meets Design
What they discovered surprised them. Newborns,
they soon began to understand, can only see 12-15inches away, and are most interested
in the faces of their parents and simple, black and white contrasting geometric
figures. Taking this new information, Dave and Surya began to develop a number of
child-friendly designs, of funky shapes and friendly animals, in simple black and
white. Next, they took their designs and applied them to easy to use media;
removable wall decals, print sets on stretched canvas, books, and even flash
cards.
Wee Gallery's Success
The response to Wee Gallery has been incredibly positive. Babies are fascinated
by the black and white contrasting colors and continue to love the friendly animal
faces into their toddler and preschool years, while parents appreciate the funky,
modern look that a room decorated in Wee Gallery inevitably achieves. Wee Gallery
products make wonderfully thoughtful gifts for new parents, young children, or anyone
else with a flair for the hip and modern.
